Reeves started his career in 1985 from a short movie ‘One step away’. He also appeared in several other movies in the same year which are a crime movie River’s Edge, TV films Babes in Toyland, Act of Vengeance and Brotherhood of Justice. He got fame from the movie Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure in 1989. This was a science fiction movie in which he played the role of a time-traveler slacker named ‘Theodore’. He played a leading role in several movies in the 90s era which includes Point Break, Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, My Own Private Idaho, Speed. In the mid-90s, he faced a career set back when some of his movies poorly flopped at the box office. These movies include Johnny Mnemonic and Chain Reaction in 1995 and 1996.

Born in Lebanon, his father Samuel Reeves a geologist and mother Patricia Taylor a showgirl and costume designer. His father died when he was 3 years old. His mother Patricia used to travel during his childhood to Hawaii, Australia, Canada and New York where he was raised. At the age of 17, he was dropped down from high school and he attended four high schools before that.

River Phoenix, best friend of Reeves was one of the most gifted actors of his time. Their first meeting was during a film I Love You to Death and became best friends since then. Reeves was offered the movie My Own Private Idaho. He gave this role to Phoenix driving 1000 miles on his motorcycle to deliver the script to his best friend. Later on, Phoenix died in 1993 at the age of 23 during this movie due to drug addiction.

Career

Reeves started his career in 1979 when he was only 15 years. He began working as an actor and appeared in the stage production named ‘Romeo and Juliet’.

In 1986, Keanu Reeves was seen performing in his movie ‘River’s Edge’ – which premiered a group of teenagers badly affected by a horrible murder. This movie was proved to be his successful film which is why he offered more roles in the film and drama industry.

In the 1990s, he further worked in Point Break, Dracula, Speed and Johnny Mnemonic films which were his blockbusters.

Afterward, he was offered the main roles in popular movies including, The Gift, The Watcher, and a comedy sitcom The Replacements in the early 2000s.

Later on, he performed fairly in drama serials named The Lake House in 2006,  Street Kings’ in the year 2008 and The Private Life of Pippa Lee’ in the next year 2009.
